Malibu's tidepools, Oxnard's Strawberries and . . .

Sunday was extra amazing. After some morning coffee and music. We got dressed and headed to Malibu to look at the tide pools. It was not really warm, but warm enough and the sky was a brilliant blue. Once we got on the beach it was great feeling the sand and water on our feet. Most people imagine Malibu to be glamorous, in my opinion; it is quite the opposite, almost country and a very relaxed attitude.

After we decided to continue our adventure north on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) to Oxnard. Oxnard is very much an agricultural town. There are fields and fields of Strawberries and sod, yes, grass. You can smell the strawberries for miles, so , we could not resist stopping at a roadside stand and purchasing some. They are so sweet and delicious. I am not sure what to make with them, we have just been eating them as they are.

Continuing north on our adventure we arrived in Santa Barbara. Decided to stop and see the Mission in Santa Barbara. It was built in the 1700’s. We were impressed.

I hope your weekend was an adventure too, if not, please join us sometime.

Coincidentally, I'm supposed to be in Oxnard later this year.

Dantallion, how cool is that? May I ask why?

These photos are all well and good, but they still don't rival the Beauty and Thought boy.

I am not really a beach kind of person, but when you wrote about the feeling of sand between your toes, it made me want to take a walk there.

I miss the beach and the ocean! I can't wait to get out of Bitchville for Spring break.

A business meeting, of all things. Now that you've posted these pics, I have a better idea of just how...rural Oxnard is. It surprised me, truth be told.

Dantallion , Oxnard is somewhat Rural. However, very close to the coast and has some shopping areas and such. There is also a military base not far from there.

What great photos to capture the excitement and views from the adventurous weekend. Your story of the strawberry farm reminds me of the one we used to go to in Wisconsin. About 4 years ago it was built by a developer and now there are homes spred about. Not the greatest sight for the eyes. Glad you guys had a great time!

Steven . . . Yes I know the feeling, many new developments have risen where strawberry fields were. As a kid, I watched them plow under one orange grove and strawberry field after another as they built the houses that would fill what is now known as Orange County or "behind the Orange curtain" as some of us say.
