gambling, hikes and dreaded ethical dilemmas

Hello, Happy Monday. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was relaxing, an adventure and a head-scratcher too.

Friday night we decided to go back to the Cheesecake factory in the Marina for dinner.

Saturday, after enjoying our morning coffee, paper and music. We and a friend drove to San Diego to do some slot machine fun. We had a good time and enjoyed the drive.

Sunday, I woke up to our cat biting my chin. Ha! Enjoyed some coffee and the paper. Then decided to go on a hike. This time I went to a new to me place. I am not sure of the name of the place I hiked. But here are a few images.

These are the stairs I hiked.

After the hike we headed into Beverly Hills for some lunch and then to the Apple store at the Grove shopping center in hopes of fixing our computer woes. I ended up with a new keyboard for now, the old one was blue tooth and for some reason was not linking up. Then, I did what I think the tech told me to do and we lost all our data on the hard drive. UGH! Oh well, I guess it was not that important. Ha! So, I am re-installing everything to see if the problems still continue.

Sunday night, we enjoyed a fresh Peach pie. And some ice cream. Yum, yum.

Now, I have an ethical dilemma. This morning on my way to the car. I noticed a shiny gold envelope, I stopped and picked it up. Inside was an American Express Gift Check for $50.00. Should I keep it? Or will this result in bad karma?

I hope you had an adventurous and relaxing weekend also.

For $50 bucks? Well if it doesn't have a clear owner, it might mean good karma! You found it because luck was on your side!

All that talk about cheesecake I
just gained some poundage. Love the
birdy picture! Soooo cute!
I wish there was a place like that
where I could walk and have some
thing really nice to look at along
the way.

Glad you had a good weekend!

HUGS!!!!

Those stairs seem to be "never-ending" and daunting in the photo. How many steps do you eventually climb? Great photos, along with the colorful "aerial" shot.

True, if there's no address or name, there's no reason to waste it. Maybe it is good karma rewarding you for something good you've done.

I've never seen snail in the U.S., amazing find.

What a variety of scenes you captured! From the beautiful to the odd... ;)
I would tend to agree with YvesPaul... if there is no address on the envelope... then maybe it is just a little warmth shining down on you!
I had a good weekend! Started off with a Melissa Etheridge concert, then had family in town. :)

More great caputes. I love looking at your pictures. What camera do you use? As for the computer dilema, urgh, technology sucks sometimes :-( You're really likeing the Cheesecake Factory at the moment, aren't you? I've just schlepped one back to the UK from Texas :-p

Now the $50 matter. Is there any information on it at all? Can you drop a note in the area asking if anyone lost something? I think you need to try something first. If not, you're in luck!

I'm a great believer in the idea that no good deed goes unpunished. As such, if there is no indication of ownership, the check is yours. The only caveat I can think of is to check whatever community bulletin board to see if someone posted a, "Lost! $50 Gift Check" notice... I mean, if someone's that trusting and naive, just give 'em back the check. Otherwise, go shopping.

I agree with Wat. But, if you feel a little guilty about it, you could always send it to American Express; they should be able to find out who originally purchased the gift card.

Hello all, Thank you for all your compliments and thoughts on the photos.

As for the $50.00, I am sending it back to American express. We also made a donation to the AIDS walk Ottawa.

The Camera I use is the Cannon Powershot S3 IS. Although, I am thinking of upgrading soon.

That was nice that you sent it back to AmEx. You don't think anyone left it for you?

Thank you Rick, yes. We are sending it back, it only seems fitting. Not likely anyone left it for me.
